Last weekend saw Penkridge’s Lower Drayton Farm welcome specially invited guests to experience its brand new ‘Jingle Ville’ festive adventure.
The event, which promises to transport families to a magical world straight from the pages of a storybook, will open its doors to visitors on Saturday 2nd December. It is the latest impressive addition to the calendar at the Bower family’s 700-acre farm and has seen a £250,000 investment transform a former grainstore into a magical Christmas town this December.
The festive fun starts as each child is presented with their very own Jingle Ville passport before boarding a seasonal bus ride to the festive town, where Mrs Claus will welcome families to watch a seasonal film and find out whether Farmer Ray can help to save Christmas.
Visitors will then be immersed into a magical world as they enter Jingle Ville itself and little ones complete their passports as they enjoy a series of fun activities – including meeting Santa, writing a letter to the North Pole, crafting a keepsake decoration, building their very own cuddly toy to take home and treasure, mixing up some reindeer food and choosing a toy from the elves’ toyshop. Kids also enjoy a delicious farm-fresh milkshake and grown-ups get a complimentary hot drink and families can also take home a carrot grown on the farm to leave out for Rudolph on Christmas Eve.
And the family adventure doesn’t end when you leave Jingle Ville – ticket holders will also enjoy access all day to the farm’s multi award-winning PLAY@ farm attraction, with its massive playbarns, outdoor adventure play and large and small animal zones. Farmer Richard Bower says:
“Jingle Ville is the realisation of a vision that we’ve had for well over a decade – it brings to life the magical Christmas adventure we have always wanted our visitors to experience. It’s not just been about building a winter wonderland in a barn, but bringing together an amazing team – including elves, Santa, Mrs Claus and other characters who help make this a truly fun, immersive experience for families. The feedback from our guests during the preview weekend has been phenomenal and we can’t wait to officially open our doors on Saturday!”
Jingle Ville runs at Lower Drayton Farm, just off the A449 outside Penkridge on selected December dates from Saturday 2nd December – including a SEND/quieter session on Friday 15 December, weekday toddler sessions on Mon 18, Tue 19, Wed 20 and Thu 21, with the last sessions taking place on Christmas eve.
