Families looking to take the kids away for a break over the summer holidays now have a whole new option thanks to Lower Drayton Farm – which lies just 1 mile from J13 of the M6 on the outskirts of Penkridge.
The popular visitor attraction, which recently launched its brand-new PLAY@ farm experience complete with indoor and outdoor adventure play alongside animal interactions, will be offering camping pitches on selected nights throughout July and August.
Campers will need to bring their own tent which they can pitch on a generous plot in the ‘back to basics’ camping field (while there’s no electric hook-up, flushing toilets and a shower will be available). During their stay, they’ll enjoy unlimited access to the farm’s outdoor campsite play area as well as the option to buy discounted tickets to enjoy the full PLAY@ experience. They’ll also be treated to VIP camper’s activities during their stay, including ‘behind the scenes’ farm trailer rides on Monday and Friday evenings and Farmers’ Sports Day on Wednesday and Saturday evenings.
The camping event is yet another way the farm is diversifying following a tough year, as Farmer Richard Bower explains:
“With the majority of people opting for a staycation this year, we’re aware that holiday accommodation across the country is in high demand, so we wanted to offer families the chance to come and enjoy a few days away at the farm. Our campsite is in a lovely, grassy field with direct access to our old farm attraction’s outdoor play area – so the kids can run free and enjoy swings, slides, zipwires, grass toboggans and our nature trail. Perfect for making new friends – and lots of memories.
