Families visiting Staffordshire’s award-winning farm attraction PLAY@ Lower Drayton Farm this Easter break are in for a real treat! Alongside all the usual indoor and outdoor fun of the farm, there will be a special live Easter show plus a host of other Easter-themed activities.
The farm, which lies just outside Penkridge – and only a mile from J13 of the M6 – was recently named New Tourism Business of the Year in the Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism & Good Food Awards 2022. Hot on the heels of its hit XMAS@ Lower Drayton Farm and springtime Lambs & Ewe event, the ‘Easter Egg-venture’ will offer a packed family day out in the countryside.
The Live show – which has been exclusively written for the farm – stars Lickle Pickle Penny and Eenie Beanie Bunny, who embark on a quest to find Eenie Beanie’s missing eggs. With plenty of laughs along the way, audience interaction will a big part – and little ones will love learning the ‘shake your fluffy tails’ dance and joining in with the fun.
And the Easter fun doesn’t end here – in fact, with so much to enjoy children will be given their very own Easter Passport to check off activities as they go and ensure they don’t miss a thing. Activities include an Easter Family Sports Day with egg & spoon races and welly wanging all part of the fun; the chance to get crafty and make their own bunny headband; the chance to meet cute baby animals, hop on the farm trailer ride for a tour of the farm, find all the coloured eggs hidden around the farm and take on the ‘Golden Egg Challenge’ which could see them win a return family ticket.
Alongside all this, families will be free to explore all that PLAY@ has to offer – including over 1km of indoor play space with plenty to keep all ages busy; acres of outdoor adventure play and large and small animal zones. Farmer Richard Bower says:
“We’re hugely excited about our first Easter open as PLAY@ – we had plans for last year but lockdown meant we didn’t get the chance to unleash the Easter fun, so this year we’re going all-out! Our talented in-house team has done an amazing job with the live show, and we know it’s going to be a real hit with families. Our advice to everyone joining us is to arrive as early as possible so you have tie to squeeze everything in!”
PLAY@ Lower Drayton Farm’s Easter Egg-venture will run from Friday 8th April – Monday 25th April. Tickets are available now via www.playatthefarm.co.uk/easter – booking is essential!
